What’s It Made From…

The Purple mattress is a 9.5-inch thick mattress that is constructed of three layers of polymer and foam. The three layers consist of the following:

• 2 inches of cutting edge hyperelastic polymer
• 5 inches of polyurethane foam

The Top Layer

The top layer of the Purple mattress is made of 2 inches of hyperelastic polymer foam. This is the level that makes this mattress truly unique. No other mattress on the market contains a hyperelastic polymer material. There are two primary advantages of the hyperelastic polymer:

The middle layer of the Purple mattress is made of 3.5 inches of polyurethane foam. The Bottom Layer

We have to honestly say that the Purple mattress offers a level of comfort that we have just never experienced. The uniquely constructed top layer dissipates any pressure that you would normally experience between your body and the mattress itself, thereby making it extremely comfortable. The middle and bottom layers properly support the top layer, enhancing the comfort level and giving you a truly restful night of sleep.

In addition, the Purple mattress does an excellent job of isolating motion transfer. Motion transfer is an issue that is often experienced with a mattress, and it particularly plagues couples who share a bed. Pain Relief and Support

We were also very impressed by the pain relief that this mattress offered. Heat Retention

While the Purple mattress seems to excel in all areas, where it really shines is in the coolness factor. Thanks to the air pockets that are created in the unique webbed design of the polymer smart grid on the top layer, the mattress remains extremely cook. The grid allows for exceptional airflow, thus preventing any heat from building up inside of it. The thin, soft and highly breathable cover further enhances the coolness factor of the Purples mattress.

Off Gassing

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the lowest level of off-gassing, we give the Purple mattress a score of 9.5. We noticed virtually no odor when were unpacking the mattress and we had some powerful noses unpacking it.

Off-gassing refers to the odor that a mattress emits. It is not an uncommon problem for mattresses that are constructed of foam, as the chemicals that are used to create the foam can have a strong smell. Because the Purple mattress is devoid of these chemicals, there is no noticeable smell (you would have to have a very strong sense of smell to notice any odor at all.) If you do notice a scent, place the mattress in a well-ventilated room and it should dissipate within hours.

Intimacy

We were also impressed by the intimacy that the Purple mattress allowed for. The polymer fabric provides exceptional bounce, as does the unique web design of the top layers. This means that the mattress will quickly bounce back after sudden movements or pressure are applied to it.
